ROM Redux
explores one of the most extensive heritage restoration
projects in the country at the Royal Ontario Museum. The
exciting beginning of this transformation is the ambitious
expansion of the museum's renowned Asian collections. Of the
world's great civilizations, few can compare to China,
Korea, and Japan. They have endured for thousands of years
and continue to inspire wonder and awe.
Now audiences
get a behind-the-scenes look at the ROM's East Asian
galleries. ROM Redux takes us on a historical journey of
adventure, delving into the remarkable legacies of some of
the exhibits' most exciting and prominent artifacts and
bringing them to life. In the China episode, we look into
the mystery of who was buried in the famous Ming Tomb. In
Japan, we are immersed in the story of the tea ceremony, the
Grand Tea Master who donated North America's most complete
tea master's set, and his family who keeps his legacy alive.
In Korea, we explore a set of Shamanistic painting that were
saved from destruction from the first Canadian missionary to
Korea. Each episode takes the viewer on a journey of the
museum that spans its history and unites the past with the
present.
